Q

What was your inspiration during the whole writing/recording process of your cd?

Brett Gleason responded on 10/02/2010
A

I just answered this for an interview so I might as well just quote myself:
''The Dissonance' was written over many years and chronicles my first episode of bipolar mania. Obviously it wasn't experienced or expressed in such clinical terms but instead as a philosophical and psychological journey to reconcile my urge for destruction with my desire for creation. It was a dramatic, panicked but ultimately empowering experience and I'd like to think 'The Dissonance' plays that out when listened to in succession.'

Q

I am not afraid, I am not Ashanti? I don't get it.

I assure you I am NOT Ashanti. Why do people keep confusing us? She certainly wouldn't be answering this stupid question.

Q

Are You related to AMBER Gleason? She is an old old friend from high school.

Brett Gleason responded on 09/29/2010
A

No, but she sounds like a winner.

Q

Why don't you have more Twitter followers????????????? You are amazing.

Brett Gleason responded on 09/28/2010
A

Thanks but being amazing doesn't have anything to do with being known! I haven't been on twitter too long, have only had an official release for 8 months now so I think things are going well at almost 500 followers. Are you one of them? http://twitter.com/BrettGleason

Q

Hey Brett!-
From a songwriting stand point who would you say your biggest influences have been? - DD Sparks

Brett Gleason responded on 09/26/2010
A

The Smashing Pumpkins are a giant influence, the dramatic changes in emotion, volume and direction while Tori Amos has shown me how to use the piano to compose full range songs.
