Well you've answered a question of mine. Thank you so much! xBG

Q

Is your songs about your life experiences?

Brett Gleason responded on 05/12/2013
A

In a very abstract sense. They are all conflicts I'm living through, questions asked out loud, inspired by living life but not about any specific situation. Or at least, so far.
Thanks for asking Christina!

5'11 1/2 - so close !!

Q

Brett, i love your voice and i listened to all your songs you have released. i must admit i have to follow your lyrics in print to somehow understand the songs. but i don't know how to interpret them.

Brett Gleason responded on 03/15/2012
A

Thank you so much for taking the time to inspect the lyrics, they're an integral part to my music. I use abstraction to access the universal, instead of speaking of the specifics of the situation I represent the drama of the experience. Each song has it's own logic and language for you to apply to your own situation. I will say however, that most of my music is about internal conflicts, I personify each side and set them in battle against each other.

Q

Second question are all these contrasting words are being used: cerebral/emotional/piano/electronica/alternative and so forth?Surprising sound-What or how do you classify yourself or is there any?

Brett Gleason responded on 03/07/2012
A

Classifying my work is incredibly difficult. My sound, approach and style are full of contradictions. I purposely include disparate elements so I'd like to think I'm unclassifiable. From a marketing perspective this is unacceptable so I'm often forced to compromise with the simple, 'electro rock' moniker.
